Q. Does it hurt?
A. The feeling most clients compare it to is tweezing, although each procedure is different due to varying tolerance levels. A topical anesthetic is applied to make the procedure more comfortable.
Q. Is it a tattoo?
A. Yes, Permanent makeup is a cosmetic tattoo. Softap pigments include glycerin and iron oxide. They do not contain any FD&C or D&C dyes.
Q. How long is the healing process?
A. The hand method results in less trauma to the skin, but there is usually some mild, residual swelling for approximately 24 hours with the lip and eyeliner procedure(s).
Q. How long does it last?
A. Permanent makeup is permanent. It doesn"t wash off or smear. However it will fade over time and need to be refreshed. The length of time will depend on many factors, including the chosen color, the amount of pigment applied, skin type and after care compliance. Time can average from 1 to 10 years and varies on an individual basis.
Q. How long does the procedure take?
A. After the initial consultation, the procedure is done in a one to two hour appointment. A follow up appointment is scheduled to insure optimum results.
Q. Can I still wear regular makeup?
A. Yes. Permanent makeup is meant to enhance your natural features. Traditional makeup can be applied to make a more dramtaic look.
Q. What if I change my hair color?
A. Your color(s) are chosen to compliment your skin tone and natural coloring, therefore your hair color will not affect the look of properly chosen/applied permanent makeup.
Q. Is it safe?
A. All Softap needles come pre-sterilized and packaged for single-use, and disposed in a sharps container after each client. All non-disposable items are rendered sterile in a medical-grade autoclave.
